Evil West starts off with little in the way of introduction, throwing players into the aftermath of a train wreck that's spilled countless coffins into the desert - from which vampiric experiments and monsters have risen. This action-packed Western fantasy doesn't quite have the sophistication or polish of a big-budget shooter, but it still provides plenty of bang. Players earn money along the way that can be spent upgrading their gear, plus perk points that augment their abilities so that they can keep an edge in combat. Jesse and Edgar can fan their pistols, take lethal aim with a rifle, or punch, kick, and shock their way through the hordes, taking care to dodge and block incoming attacks as necessary. The two heroes are armed with traditional Western guns, as well as special vampire hunting tools, such as a gauntlet equipped with various melee implements and an electric shock charge. You'll move along linear paths, frequently finding areas where you are beset either by waves of weaker vampires, monsters, and human familiars or an exceptionally strong one in a big set-piece battle. Alone or in cooperation with a friend, players work their way through classic Wild West environments, from ghost towns to winding canyons. When this organization is decimated in a surprise attack, the duo is forced to go on the offensive in order to keep vampires from overrunning the country. Players step into the boots of Jessie and Edgar, a pair of vampire hunters who are part of an organization that has been doing battle with the undead for centuries. EVIL WEST reimagines 19th century America as a land teeming with vampires, demons, and monsters.
